We wrote this policy to help you understand what information we collect, how we use it and what choices you have about it. Because we’re an internet company, some of the concepts below are a little technical, but we’ve tried our best to explain things in a simple and clear way. What information do we process.
When you sign up to use Open Cider, you voluntarily share some personal information like your username, email address, and any other information you give us.
What we do with the information.
We legitimately use your information in the following ways:
- Provide it to "Third Party Apps" for use. The basis of the data provided to the Services is identity management. .
- We process your information to provide, improve, administer our services, communicate with you.
- Improve Open Cider and offer new features
- Provide analytics to improve third party apps
- For security reasons and fraud prevention.
Transferring your Information.
Open Cider is a worldwide service. By using our products or services, you authorize us to transfer and store your information outside your home country, including in the United States, for the purposes described in this policy. The privacy protections and the rights of authorities to access your personal information in such countries may not be equivalent to those of your home country.
Choices you have about your Information.
Our mission is to give users control over their data. If you have an Open Cider account, many of these controls are built directly into Open Cider settings. For example, you can:
- Manage access to your data. Third Party Apps' access to your data can be set, edited, and altogether blocked entirely temporarily or indefinitely.
- Delete service related data at anytime. You can delete third party apps entirely blocking their access to your data in a way that complies with the pseudonymization procedure specified in the GDPR compliance checklist.
- Close your account at any time. Once this is done, we will delete your user data. Please note that there may be legal reasons for us to keep your data, such as if we receive a law enforcement request asking us to preserve data. We may also retain certain information in our backup systems for a limited period of time, or as required by law.
How and When we share Information.
We share your information with Third Party Apps with your consent. You consent to this by authorizing their access to your personal information. Other instances where we share your information include third-party companies or individuals we employ to process information on our behalf according to the purposes described in this privacy policy. We may also share the information with law enforcement agencies or government agencies if we believe that disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation or legal request; to protect the safety, rights, or property of the public, any person, or Open Cider; or to detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues.
Changes to the Policy.
We may change this policy from time to time and if we do, we’ll post any changes on this page. If you continue to use Open Cider after those changes are in effect, you agree to the new policy. If the changes are significant, we may provide a more prominent notice or get your consent, as required by law.
